e-POWER allows you to accelerate and decelerate down to a crawl speed using only the accelerator pedal – pushing down to speed up and easing off to slow down*.

*The driver needs to operate the brake pedal to come to a complete stop.


A QUIET,
RELAXING DRIVE

Because it's powered by a battery the e-POWER system is quieter than a traditional gasoline-powered car. The system’s gasoline engine charges the battery pack mainly at higher cruising speeds and on rougher road surfaces, when road noise helps mask engine sound



FUEL EFFICIENCY
WITHOUT COMPROMISE

For maximum fuel efficiency, the on-board gasoline engine runs at an optimal speed to charge the battery when needed. When the car is decelerating, regenerative braking can also charge the battery pack, further enhancing efficiency and lowering emissions



e-4ORCE

e-4ORCE* is an electric-drive-four-wheel-control system that freely controls driving force via integrated control of the two front and rear high-output motors and brakes.

e-PEDAL

The e-Pedal allows the driver to start, accelerate, decelerate and stop using only the accelerator pedal.




HOW DOES e-POWER WORK ?

e-POWER system includes a gasoline engine with a power generator, inverter, battery and an electric motor. The electric motor delivers power directly to the wheels, using energy stored in the battery pack. Used for charging the battery pack or powering the electric motor, the gasoline engine eliminates the need for an EV charger.

Nissan X-trail was recently awarded the Best Large SUV 2023 by the jury of the Women's World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) 2023 as they praised the new X-Trail for its spaciousness, effortless driving performance and electrified powertrain, e-POWER.

On the occasion of the Grand Prix Auto Moto gala evening which took place on October 20 in Paris, the editorial staff of the famous magazine awarded Nissan the 2022 Innovation Prize for its exclusive electrified e-POWER engine.

Nissan X-Trail won the 2023 "Technology of the Year" award, voted by the Automotive Researchers' and Journalists' Conference of Japan (RJC), for its 2nd generation e-POWER with VC Turbo and e-4ORCE technology.
